My work incorporates my interest in night scenes outside capturing the world around me as well as using models within my images. When on a shoot I use my own ability to capture people and introduce the viewer to the subject in a manner that was not previously known to the viewer. By doing this, I am able to create scenes, not previously privy to the human eye while also creating relatable images through people. I seek to document the people in the world around them while also giving the viewer an understanding of the emotions becoming conceptualized while shooting.
I use specific locations, times of night or day to invoke certain feelings when looking at each photo. When editing, I tend to think about how warm as far as light an image is, how cold is the image? At this time of the day, what will the scene we are in communicate to the viewer? What mood is the model in, and do I need to change that for the better? All these things are aids in creating an image in the way I feel/see it to me.
In totality my work involves a level I'm understanding of the subjects involved as well as the modeling place so that I can create these images. Through my use of these elements of a choice seen such as artificial light I could use this as an anchor to build a upon to then induce feelings and themes that I felt were present at the time of shooting. My relationship with said model is important too the scene as well as it allows me to pull these positive emotions out of a subject turning them into observable movement. From there, I create edits in post that are clean and polished giving my images my own modern signature file also creating high-level fine artwork.
